2020 Faculty

Andrew Flores is a Minnesota native residing in Los Angeles. He has been training for over twenty years in various disciplines including contemporary, ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and tap. He began his dance career at Larkin dance studio under the direction of Michelle and Molly Larkin. Andrew then went on to study at AMDA in LA where he had the opportunity to learn/explore movement at a professional pace. Most recently he has performed/competed on NBC’s World of Dance with Embodiment under the direction of Rudy Abreu. He then went on the WOD live tour under the direction of Nappy Tabs. Andrew is currently an ensemble member in Canvus Dance and has worked with choreographers such as; Tessandra Chavez, Kyle Hanagami, Katy Tate, Gerran Reese, Mandy & Elizabeth and many more. Andrew is currently taking class and pursuing a career as a professional dancer/choreographer. He is dedicated and committed to his work and loves to explore movement, while continuously spreading his love for dance.

Originally from Olathe, Kansas, Elizabeth DuPont-Henn has been dancing for 21 years. She studied and competed at Dance Expressions training in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York City where she studied at Pace University receiving her BFA in Commercial Dance with concentrations in Pedagogy and Performance. While at Pace University she spent a semester in LA where she trained in commercial dancing, on film work, and behind the camera skills. Since graduating, Elizabeth has finished her second season with the Radio City Rockettes performing in the Christmas Spectacular. In addition to performing at Radio City Music Hall, she has performed with the Rockettes in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. Elizabeth continues to grow with dance by constantly taking class, teaching students, and performing

Jacob Byrd began his dance education at the age of 6 in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school he moved to Los Angeles to attend The American Music and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) where he graduated with honors from the Dance Theatre Conservatory program. Jacob has studied ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, latin jazz, partnering and hip-hop. In addition to these dance techniques he has also studied acting, anatomy, injury prevention for dancers and dance

history. During his time at AMDA Jacob had the opportunity to work with Doriana Sanchez, Tina Landon, Ricky Palomino, Joelle Martinec and many other choreographers and teachers. Upon graduation from AMDA he signed with Go 2 Talent Agency. Some of Jacob’s recent credits include Paula Abdul MixTape video with choreographer Tyce Diorio, Disney’s Rock The Dots commercial, Sister Act the Musical with choreographer Michelle Elkin, The Shout with choreographer Yusuf Nasir, and Carolyn Duboc’s “Wavelenghth music video. Jacob has performed the past 2 seasons with the Marina Del Ray Symphony contemporary ballet. Most recently he appeared as a feature dancer/actor in The Ballad of Lady M directed by the amazing Andrew Pearson. Jacob is excited to share his passion and knowledge with the up and coming generation of dancers.

ART OF THE TITLE

Maya began dancing professionally at the age of 16, with Ed Alonzo and was an assistant to the choreographer for Cedar Fair Entertainment. Maya worked for RWS Entertainment in the Charlie Brown Christmas Spectacular at Worlds of Fun.  After graduating from high school, she auditioned and was accepted to the Edge Performing Arts Center scholarship program in Los Angeles.  Upon completion of the program Maya signed with Go 2 Talent Agency.  Maya’s recent credits include E Plus Entertainment Grammy’s Show and well as a New Year’s Eve show in Las Vegas. She continues to audition and grow as a dancer.  Maya is excited to be back with the Dance Out family.

Rony Jacques is a dancer, choreographer, instructor, and freestyler. He teaches and instructs classes all over the New England area as well as Southern California. He first started dancing while studying at Tufts University where he choreographed for their dance troupe Spirit of Color and led the all male step team Blackout. Once he graduated with a bachelors in Child Development, he became a member/choreographer of three professional dance teams; Iconic Movement, an all male step team, Static Noyze Dance Company, who were featured on season 5 of America's Best Dance Crew, and Concept Artists, one of Boston’s premier hip hop teams. He has trained and learned from dedicated and renowned instructors/choreographers such as Dave Scott, Cris Judd, Luam, Tricia Miranda, Kelly Peters, Neil Schwartz, Havic, Kenny Wormald, and Carlos Neto. He has taught at Edge Performing Arts Center and PlaygroundLA and currently teaches at Orange County Performing Arts Academy and Avanti Dance Company. He has worked with various artists such as Diplo, Hopsin, Marc Nelson, and his dancing and work has been seen/featured on SYTYCD, Boston Kiss Concert, Billboard.com, Samsung, Cricket Wireless, Six Flags Magic Mountain, High School Nation Tour, Ghostbusters movie (2016), and Netflix series: #blackAF.

Born in the Lubao province of Pampanga, Philippines, in 1985, Phil moved to the U.S. with his mother and four siblings. At the age of 16, he was introduced to the performing arts studied in Los Angeles under Mr. Joe Tremaine, in Chicago under Mr. Frank Hachette and Mr. Charles Kelly.


Phil performed as a singer, actor, and dancer in the Broadway musicals “The Phantom”, “Grease”, “Hello Dolly”, “George M”, and “Anything Goes”. Phil also gained experienced training under the tutelage of Bob Fosse. He has traveled all over the world performing as a MC and singer/dancer on Norwegian, Holland America, and Costa Cruise Lines. Phil also modeled for Best Buy, DIY Network, Sprint, Bud Light and appeared on the cover of “Kansas City” Magazine.


Phil has choreographed for the White Theater’s presentation of “Fiddler on the Roof”.  He is a choreographer for Cedar Fair Live Entertainment and Worlds of Fun including shows for the summer season, Haunt and Winterfest.  This past summer he choreographed the Spectacle of Lights Parade and Hot Rhythm Nights shows for the hugely successful Grand Carnivale celebration for several Cedar Fair parks.  Most recently he had the pleasure choregraphing the Winter Wonderland parade which premieres this holiday season at Carrowinds Park in North Carolina.

 

Phil opened the Conservatory of Dance Education in 1999 and has led the studio to become one of the premier studios in the Greater Kansas City area. CODE has an elite competition troupe as well as a performance team and an extensive recreation program; he expects students to work hard, excel in practice and maintain a positive attitude and fun environment. His students have gone on to perform around the world – from Hollywood to Beijing; from stage shows to motion pictures.

 

In addition, Phil is the owner of Vitug Entertainment Productions. VEP is designed to give dancers and singers the experience they need to reach  their  goals and follow their dreams. VEP was responsible for staffing the dancers that appeared in the Spectacle of Lights parade this past summer at Worlds of Fun.
